The Commercial Real Estate Tsunami covers every aspect of the commercial real estate crisis and offers solid, timely advice for anyone in the industry. This book is an easy read and the concepts are easy to understand as the author uses the analogy of the various stages of a tsunami. Great read and valuable resource.

The Commercial Real Estate Market is in a slowly quickening down spiral. We have seen it happen in the residential market and now Mr. Wood is providing us with a dismal forecast for the commercial real estate market! He first supplies us with some very convincing statistics showing how vacancy rates have increased significantly while rental rates have decreased as owners strive to survive in the rental market. After showing us what is happening, he begins to develop the idea that there are solutions to this dilemma out there. He brings in Congressional testimony to show that prominent real estate organizations are facing up to the dangers of the situation. He then enlists the opinions of such experts in the field as Dr. Sam Chandan, Mr. Eric Von Berg, Ms. Maura O'Connor, Mr. Tom Loeswick and Mr. Anton Qui to develop the ideas of danger in investments and then the potential for resolution and safety. Mr. Wood ends the book with an excellent chapter, written by Ms. Donna Wood, MFT, which provides detailed steps to aid families in traversing the rough times brought on by this crisis.

The book is a good read on a subject that will bring first tears to the eyes of CRE agents and then a smile as Mr. Wood succinctly outlines the possible solutions to a crisis that is currently building into a tsunami. His writing style flows easily, just as does his speaking style, for I have seen both in action. He is a good writer, writing about a tough set of times. This is a must read for commercial real estate agents world wide!

Wow- I knew that the commercial real estate "bubble" was likely to be the next one to burst, but I had no idea how sever a shock to our ecosystem that tsunami was likely to cause. Woods' research, interpretation and insights are surprisingly clear, easy to follow and insightful. I found myself on the edge of disbelief and trying to challenge some of the assertions, but they are so well supported, it was hard to do. I just finished it and, like a complex movie, am about to sit down and go through it again, as I am sure there are lots of tidbits that I will more fully appreciate upon a second reading. If you are interested enough in this topic to be reading this review, buy the book!
